I like to think The world has it's own population control. There are unseen forces that make everyone's life miserable in an effort to weed out the weak and leave the strong. It's kind of like what Darwin's theory was about. Then I stand up, dust off and look up at the sky. I point, and I scream "you'll have to do better than that to break me!" She loves me, i love her, but for some reason she cant get someone out of her mind (and heart)and until she can figure out why, our relationship can't continue. i'm not competing with someone else, i'm not like that but i've gone through this with her before but how much heartache can i take? gggrrrrrr!!!

ooohhh, yea, that's no fun... sorry to hear that for you btb. I know it's hard when one person is holding onto a prior love or relationship. Not much you can do about it except make a decision regarding your own feelings. i.e. Do you want to 1) wait it out and hope she gets over it in the near future or 2) just decide to move on until she either figures it out and/or you find someone else. The wait and see game, though - not a lot of fun. To many variables you cannot control. It's really hard finding someone that is free of prior crap, though. So if you really like her, maybe just give her some space/distance, but give her some time to work it out. She might come to realize her prior feelings are fading and she's not happy without you.

believe me i have given her time and space she thinks because she lost her job she doesn't have much to offer me, like i really care about how much money she makes, she has gone back to college and is doing great and honestly i make enough money she doesn't have to really work.

the money may be an excuse if her heart is elsewhere. Maybe someone else in the fo' might have some other advice to help... but for me, if I really loved her and thought she was worth it, I'd probably wait, atleast for awhile. But you have to give her space if you decide to wait it out for awhile. Otherwise you may just push her further away. And decide now what you think is a valid timeframe for waiting and stick to it. You can't control her - but you can control when or if you choose to move on. Sorry you have to go through this btb... hang in there!

you know, sometimes it just ends up being a timing thing. Sucks, but timing is everything (or so some say). Bottom line - if you love her, back off a little, wait it out awhile, and see how it goes. Or if you've already done that long enough, then decide to move on and do it. I read, though, you want to hang in there... (the word 'special' gave you away). There's nothing wrong with that -- just realize you are going to be in for some heartache, take it to whatever point you get tired of it or she comes around, and go from there. That path is not always wrong - it just sucks to feel the heartache from it. And hang out with the cop (as a friend)!!!
